Dr. Whitis received his medical degree from the University of Iowa in 1992 and completed his residency in Radiology at the University of Utah in 1996 where he served as chief resident.
Dr. Whitis is board-certified in Radiology and is a member of The American College of Radiology, The Radiological Society of North America, The Society of Interventional Radiology and a member of the American College of Phlebology. He introduced the minimally invasive treatment of spinal fractures called Vertebroplasty to the region in 2000. His interests include the treatment of varicose veins, peripheral vascular disease, thrombolysis and spinal intervention.
